Jip Mus works as a filmmaker, photographer, and artist. Beside this studio he runs his own
production house, guiding projects from concept to delivery. He grew up in Amsterdam and
studied cinematography in Brussels at the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema & Sound while
working as a freelance filmmaker and artist.
‘A lot of what he does starts with a fascination for nature and science. Working with the ‘real’ world
creates a lot of unexpected beauty, one that is very hard to animate through software; focusing
on organic shapes and textures.
In his work he play a lot with scale, enlarging small details and creating new worlds out of these;
finding a certain abstraction and dream state through microscopes and macro lenses. There is a
certain beauty in the overlap and abstraction of the smallest and biggest objects in our universe,
visualising a complex connectivity. The world around us is slowly losing its mystery, and his hope is
to bring back some of it through his work. Bringing back a fascination for the unknown in our
natural world.’
He’s worked with brands like Iris van Herpen, Huawei, Elle, Rolls Royce, Cartier, and many others.
